As a biking instructor in the Negev, I developed an expertise in taking special groups needing empowerment and leadership skills on off road biking expeditions in the desert. I work with groups of juvenile offenders, participants in drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs, women’s groups and Bedouin youth.
I have always loved bikes including the riding experience and the empowerment it gave me personally.
After studying physical education with emphasis on special needs I knew I had to incorporate the two and use off road biking as an empowering therapeutic tool.
The fresh air, the never ending desert views, the quiet you find inside yourself while you break a sweat, conquer your fear and push your limits- provides you a complete and unique tool box for life.
My new bike-riding course began in an ordinary way with the inherent goal being to take the youth out in order to unleash excessive energies. Very soon, I learned that the cumulative bike riding experiences held immense potential for their personal development. The actual riding experience became an amazing empowerment tool for them. It also became apparent to me that their life experiences reflected various behavioral patterns, which were expressed throughout their bike riding.
These past eight years I have been working as a cycling instructor and this has allowed me to develop a platform which provides various empowerment tools to help boost self-confidence, establish values and life skills in varied populations such as at risk adolescence, adult addiction, Bedouin youth and women groups.
Cycling empowerment can be done as part of a group or as personal sessions. Contact me for more info.
