A few days ago I walked through Nachal Chaverim after rain had fallen. I saw pools of water along the way and the clouds reflected in them. Nachal Chaverim is close to the ancient Nabatean city of Ovdat. At the entrance to Nachal Chaverim I walked past a Nabatean water hole. The Nabateans collected the winter rainfall and stored it for summer use. Not bad in a climate where the average rainfall is 80 mm per year!
